Question:
I have a 1965 camper with tire size st175/80r13. The spare that came with it, the rim does not fit. The lugs on the trailer are 4 lug 4.5”. Everything I am seeing is a 4 lug 4”. Is there a way to get a rim that size? I need the one rim and 3 replacement tires.

The tire size ST175/80R13 is pretty standard, so we can definitely get you replacements for the tires. I suggest going with the Taskmaster Provider ST175/80R13 Radial Tire # TTWTRTM1758013C. These are rated up to 1,360 pounds at 50 psi and also has an M speed rating, which means it is rated up to 81 miles per hour.
On the other hand, the wheels are proving to be more difficult. The 4 on 4.5 bolt pattern was used on older vehicles and wasn't really ever used for trailers. At least that I could find. The 4 on 4 bolt pattern on the Americana # AM20224, which will measure 4 inches center to center of lug holes directly across from each other, will be the standard used on 4 lug wheels. This will make finding a replacement wheel very difficult.
What you will most likely need to do is either replace the hubs with something new, or replace the whole axle. That being said, there were some odd spindles used pre 80s that are shorted than spindles nowadays. These are also something that is very difficult to find replacements for. What is going to be the best option is replacing the axle with something like the Dexter # 20440I-ST-72. This will include new hubs and bearings, but you will need to measure your spring seats and hub faces to get the correct fit. This will measure 58 inches from center to center on the spring seats, and 72 inches from hub face to hub face.
It should be noted that this may not be the correct axle for you and you will need to measure to confirm everything. If we do not have the correct measurements on the axle, you will need to contact a local Dexter dealer and they can have an axle made to your specifications.
