1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today we're going to take a look at the nine inch by four inch white, solid center, steel trailer wheel with a four on four inch bolt pattern. Now, this steel wheel has a solid center design, it's very sturdy and corrosion-resistant. They do use a white powder coat finish over an e-coat primer over the whole wheel and this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications.Your dimensions on this, the diameter again is nine inches. And if we measure that, the diameter is always measured inside the inside. So if we take our tape measure and we go inside the inside, there's your nine inch diameter. Width on it is the same way, inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat.
There's your four inch width.The bolt pattern on this wheel is a four on four inch bolt pattern and if you wanted to measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, in this case, four, all you do is pick one of the holes, measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. So there's your four inch bolt pattern, four on four inch bolt pattern.This wheel does usually need 00:01:00 a lug size of a half inch by 20. Weight capacity on this wheel is 1120 pounds and the last measurement is the pilot hole diameter, the large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer. Diameter of that opening is 2.5 inches.But that should do it for the review on the nine inch by four inch, white, solid center, steel trailer wheel with the four on four inch bolt pattern.

This is an absolutely wonderful product, but incorrectly listed. These are 4 lug on 4" pattern, not 4 on 4.5" as shown in the catalog. I will be buying another dozen or so of them soon, now that I know that I can get matching spindles and accessories to fit them!
