How Much Can a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica LX Tow and What Is Needed

Question:

I spent $ to have the dealer install the Tow Group on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica LX. I am concerned that they did not confirm that my vehicle is designed to tow 3600lb, even with the 3600lb Tow Group Package. Before I buy a 3004lb Dry weight Trailer Forest River Salem 167RB and waste $ I need confirmation in regards to what my vehicle is designed to tow.

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica LX has two listed towing capacities based on whether or not it came equipped with the trailer tow package. If the vehicle was equipped with the trailer tow package then the towing capacity is 3,600 lbs but if the vehicle was not equipped with the trailer tow package then the towing capacity is 1,500 lbs. I am not aware of any other factors that influence the towing capacity so it would appear you now have a 3,600 lb towing capacity but only the dealer would be able to confirm. I have attached some towing parts below you might already have or need to complete your setup. Please note, if the trailer has brakes you will need a seven way trailer connector and brake controller as well which are generally not included with the factory trailer tow package.
