The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional # C51180 is compatible with the Andriod 4.4 KitKat and newer Operating System. Your Galaxy S5 is updatable up to Marshmallow which is Android 6.0, so it is compatible with your phone.
