Air Pressure Recommendation for Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire Load Range D # AM30153

Updated 08/18/2025 | Published 06/11/2018

Question:

I bought these tires from you about a month ago. Im getting ready to go camping and I want to make sure I have the correct air pressure in them. They came to me with 60 p.s.i. I have a 1976 tent trailer that weighs approx. 1100 lbs. factory weight, unloaded. Should I be running these tires at 100 p.s.i. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

With trailer tires you need to run them at the max PSI listed on the sidewall to ensure you get the full capacity of the tire and to prevent heat build up in them. For the Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D # AM30153 that you referenced you'd need 100 psi. 60 psi would not be enough.

5.70-8 small boat trailer tire. It says max 100psi. What do I set tire pump at gas station for proper air?

@Ted For trailer tires you want to inflate them to the max PSi listed on the sidewall when cold and you are good. So 100 psi first thing in the morning before towing and you are good.
