Question:
What is the max that I can tow in my Honda Ody, 2017?

Expert Reply:
On page 401 of the online version of the owner's manual for a 2017 Honda Odyssey states that the max towing weight capacity is 3,500 lbs. That is with 2 occupants that weigh 150 lbs each and if the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) cooler is equipped. The towing capacity changes as more people fill the vehicle from front to back and each person weighing 150 lbs, with 15 lbs of cargo:
2 - 3,500 lbs
3 - 3,350 lbs
4 - 3,200 lbs
5 - 3,050 lbs
6 - 2,900 lbs
7 - 1,450 lbs
8 - Towing not recommended
If you don't already have equipment for towing with your Odyssey then I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75270, along with the Tekonsha T-One # 118521 for basic trailer wiring, and a ball mount kit like part # C45036 but you will want to verify that the 2" drop is correct for your application by referencing the attached ball mount article.
I have attached some installation videos for you to reference but I also recommend that you check your owner's manual for verification and any other special instructions.
