Question:
Looking for a trailer brake controller wiring harness for a pre-wired 94 dodge ram 1500. Also, I have looked under the dash, I have 3 port receptacles open, not sure which is the trailer brake port. Thanks

There isn't a custom brake controller wiring harness available for your 1994 Dodge Ram 1500. It is possible that Dodge makes one that will fit your truck but as far as an aftermarket one none are available for the 1994 models. A brake controller would have to be partially hardwired in. The custom harnesses are only confirmed to fit 1995 and later models.
To install the controller, you will just need about 25 feet or so of wire # 12-1-1, sold by the foot, and a 30-amp circuit breaker # 38630. And if you do not already have a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter you will need one of those too.
The brake controller black wire will go to the positive battery terminal via the 30-amp circuit breaker. The white wire will go to the negative battery terminal. Going through the firewall is the most direct route. the blue wire will go to the back of the 7-Way connector and attach in the 7 o'clock position.
For the red wire use the circuit tester or meter on the wires on the brake switch above the brake pedal. Find that one that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed. The brake controller red wire will attach to this wire.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.

I will say that my 94 which is the first half of 94 based on the engine and turbo charger is factory wired all the way and will use a 95 brake controller harness… Seems to be whether the truck was wired on a Monday or 5 o’clock on Friday with these particular pickups. Just a thought
