Is it Possible to Add an Electric Motor to Landing Gear Jacks on a Horse Trailer

Question:

All my friends have a landing gear motor that attaches to the existing landing gear on their goose neck trailers. That is what I am looking for. My trailer is all aluminum, three horse, with a small weekend living quarters. It weighs about 6000lb.

Sounds like you are looking for a motor to add to your existing landing gear to make them a powered landing gear set.

I would have to know what brand of landing gear you have to know for sure what parts you would need. Lippert, Venture and Stromberg Carlson landing gear are the same like part # LC333966. This is a very popular set that can have a motor added to it.

You would need the motor kit # LC142178 and switch kit # LG-145236. You can use the same gearbox that comes with the manual landing gear.

The Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit # BD1824200100 that you is designed to fit Bulldog single speed landing gear jacks with a 12k capacity. If that is what you have on your trailer this would work well for you.

If you have a different brand of landing gear email me back and I will see if we have a solution for you.
