On your 2005 Chevrolet Express Van with the 7-wire trailer harness you will need to use a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 and test the function of each wire to know where to connect to the 7-wire outlet. I am sending a link with a picture of a 7-way vehicle connector that shows the connections for each specific function.
If you need a trailer connector for your vehicle, I have the Hopkins Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185, which can be used to connect to the 7-wire trailer harness you have. If you do not have the 4-pole connector on your harness, you can just cut the 4 poles off of the adapter and wire each one accordingly. Our Hopkins Adapter, # 37185, has a yellow wire in place of the purple wire that is used as an auxiliary wire, like reverse lights, if needed.
