Wiring 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 For Installation of Flat Bed

Question:
I am in the process of removing the bed and installing a flatbed. I was curious if there is a pigtail I can wire to the lights on the flatbed so that I can plug in to the factory brake/tail lights. I would rather not cut the factory wiring so that I have the option of re-installing the factory bed when I sell it. The truck does have the factory trailer wiring with the additional RV plug in the bed but if at all possible I would like to keep the trailer wiring on a separate circuit.

We don't offer a direct part, but I know how you could fabricate a pigtail. You'd need part # 118381 that would plug inline with the harness that plugs into the rear of the 7-way. You could simply cut the 4-pole off and wire the yellow wire to the left turn, the green wire to the right turn, ground the white wire and run the brown wire to the running light and jumper it over to the running light on the other side.
This set up would provide you with a quick disconnect. You'd need to wire into the lamps on the flat bed, but the factory vehicle wiring would remain intact.
