1991 Toyota 4Runner - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Toyota 4Runner's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Good light set. Works perfectly and has held up well.

by:
2010 Chevrolet Silverado

Everything was delivered on time and worked perfectly. This solved my concerns about towing my car with my RV with a car dolly.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

lights look fine....

easy hitch
is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

by:
2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.
Friendly and informative people on the phone were knowledgeable and new their product. I will shop here again.

These are the products that we needed and you were able to provide them.

by:
2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Very strong magnets and plenty of length on the cord for a car in tow.

by:

I looked everywhere for these lights. Lots of cheep ones out there for 2-2X $$ but these are the real deal and a great price. Shipment was early and response was great. Thank you for the quality product.

by:
2010 Mini Cooper

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2019 Mini Clubman w/Manual Transmission
To flat tow any vehicle you would need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Most of the equipment is generic but the base plate kit is specific. As of right now (January 2019) the only base plate kit that has been confirmed to fit a 2019 Mini Clubman is the Blue Ox # BX1315 and it is only compatible with S models of the Clubman. I tried looking up the online version of your owner's manual but I couldn't...

The base plate that will fit your 2004 Ford Ranger step side 2 wheel drive extended cab truck is the Roadmaster Tow Bars for the Ford Ranger, part # 483-1, I have linked the page below. Along with the base plate you may also need the following: Tow Bar # RM-020 or # RM520 Tow Bar Wiring # RM-154, # RM-155 or #RM-2120 Safety Chains # RM-645 or # RM-643 There are also various accessories available for Tow Bars, which I have linked below. • Base Plates, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, and Wiring to Flat Tow 1991 Mazda Miata MX-5
The first item you will need to flat tow your 1991 Mazda Miata are base plates. We carry two different options of base plates for your vehicle. First are the XL Plates, # 711-4. These have removable drawbars held in place with a pin and clip. With the drawbars removed the base plates are virtually invisible. For these, trimming of the spoiler, air damn, grille, or plastic fascia may be required for installation. The other option are Standard Plates, # 711-2. These are fixed brackets and...

  • Wiring Kits Needed To Flat Tow A Ford F-150 Behind Another Truck
You could install a diode wiring kit in the F-150, but the quickest and easiest route here would be to simply plug in some tow lights like the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120. If you are set on wanting to run the signals through the F-150's tail lights then you could use a universal diode wiring kit like the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247. This kit will require you to splice into your F-150's wiring to complete the installation. Fitment...

  • How to Wire LED Trailer Tail Light STL76RB to a Trailer Side 4-Way Connector
First, you would want to use 2 of these because otherwise the light would blink with either turn signal. What you you would do is take a trailer side 4-Way, # A35W42B, and attach the lights wires to it as follows: On the driver side you will attach the white wire to the truck frame or to the white wire on the 4-Way. The red wire would go to the solid yellow wire on the 4-Way. The black light wire attaches to the yellow with brown stripe wire from the 4-Way. On the passengers side do the...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2000 Chevy Tracker Behind a Motor Home with an Aladdin Tow Bar
You would need to use an adapter to use a Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar with the Roadmaster base plates, # 1021-1, because the 2 manufacturers attach differently. Use adapter # BX88178. Or the other option is to use Blue Ox base plates, # BX1636 to match the Aladdin tow bar. Since you already have the Aladdin tow bar which comes with safety cables, you should not need to add any. But if you do you can use # RM-643. You will also need a lighting solution and supplemental braking. For lighting...

  • Using the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar with 2001 Toyota Tacoma
You will require base plates to go with the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501, a crossbar style base plate. I suggest the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit, # 1159-1. You will also need indicator lights. There is the magnetic Towing Light Kit option, # RM-2120, for an easy to install, less permanent solution. Or for a more permanent solution, Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154 (I attached a link below to an FAQ page on how to wire a vehicle with a diode...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 Behind an RV
Yes, you can flat tow a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. Only the 4x4 models can be flat towed with all wheels on the ground. The 2-wheel drive models cannot be flat towed and would have to be put on a trailer. But since you have a 4x4 you don't have to worry about that! There are 5 main parts needed to flat tow a vehicle: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. For base plates you can use Roadmaster MX base plates # 3154-3. You certainly aren't alone with this having happened, and we have checked with Pilot, but unfortunately there is not a replacement antenna or connector available for the Pilot Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat and 7-Way RV Connector - Wireless # NV-5164. • 4-Way Trailer Wiring Recommendation for Semi-Truck for Towing Vehicle with Temporary Lights
Most likely the temporary towing lights you have on your car use a standard 4-way connection like what the part # RM-2120 has. So you'll need to install a 4-way on your semi truck. For that you'll want to use a kit like the part # 119250KIT which you'll be able to wire to your semi truck and have a functional 4-way.

We have several options of base plates for your 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, my suggestion is the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX1635 as this is designed to mate to Blue Ox tow bars. For lighting there are several options. If you will not be towing often then I recommend a magnetic kit like # RM-2120. If you will be towing often then a more permanent solution like # RM-154 would be the way to go. For supplemental braking I suggest the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System...

  • What is the Battery Life for Hopkins Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights
The battery life for Hopkins wireless magnetic tow lights, # C6304, is going to depend on several factors including the charge level of the batteries used, quality of the batteries, ambient temperature, and of course how long the lights are turned on. It is difficult to estimate because of all of these factors. The safe bet is to check them with reasonable frequency. With that said the LED lights draw very little amperage so fresh batteries are likely going to last well over 2 hours. If...

  • Can a Front Mount Hitch and Base Plates be Installed on a 2010 Ford Ranger
Nine times out of ten you will not be able to have a front mount hitch installed and tow the vehicle behind an RV. The problem is that to flat tow a vehicle you need to install base plates. The base plates attach to the same area as a front mount hitch would. And on the other side, bolting or welding base plates to the hitch in some way can weaken the hitch and make it unsafe to use. So basically, you could either flat tow the 2010 Ranger or put a front mount hitch on it, but not both...

I strongly recommend a non-binding tow bar because with it you will not have to have the vehicle and motorhome perfectly straight and level to hook up or disconnect.
