Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Ford Focus, we're gonna be checking out the Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar. Before we jump right in I figured it'd be useful just to kind of touch base on the main parts that we're gonna need to flat tow our Focus down the road in the first place. First one will be your base plate, and that's gonna provide us with a solid attachment point. That way we're able to hook our tow bar up. Tow bar will be the second part, and this is gonna be the physical link that actually connects the front of your Ford to the back of your motor home.

Hi there Focus owners. Today on your 2017 Ford Focus we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox's Alpha 2 Tow Bar. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar in the event of a catastrophic disconnect. You'll need your base plate, which provides the attachment points for your tow bar and safety cables. Now this is going to allow us to safely tow our Focus behind our motor home, and get down the road and start our adventure. So, if you're looking for a tow bar that has the ability to store on your RV, you're not having to take it on and off, but also the extremely easy and simple to hook up, the Falcon 2 is going to be a great option for you.It's going to slide into the receiver hitch on our motor home, and we're not going to have to worry about a ball mount. Now on our application, we are using a high-low adapter, which is not included. Our tow bar is designed to work with two inch by two inch receiver tube openings, and has a capacity of 6,000 pounds.Now on the vehicle side, it's just going to be a simple quick hookup to our base plate, and it's going to work with all Roadmaster base plates as well as some Blue Ox base plates with an adapter that is sold separately.
