How to Install the Ventline Replacement Operator for Trailer Roof Vent

Today on enclosed trailer we'll be installing the Ventline replacement operator with knob and screw for Ventline Ventadome trailer roof vent with metal dome. Part number BV0115-04. We'll also be installing the replacement dome assembly for the Ventline Ventadome trailer roof vent. Part number Bv0534-00. Now you'll need to first take apart the interior portion of the vent. There's four screws that hold the outer trim piece on.

You want to be extra careful here, as the plastic becomes very brittle as it gets older. Next there's two screws, one on the front and back, that hold the screen in place. These are small Phillips head screws. With that done, we'll go ahead and set the screen down out of the way. Next, you'll remove the two screws that hold the operator arm in place. You'll then slide the operator arm out through the slot.

We'll then take the new operator arm, slide it back up into place, and put the two screws back in, holding it to the frame of the vent. Next, we're going to need to go up on the roof of the trailer. Now we're ready to install the new cover. Just slide it in from one side and as you're doing that you want to make sure that the actuator arm slides through the round portion and then up into the channel. Now, it makes it a little easier if you have someone down in the trailer to help guide this through, or to raise and lower the actuator arm if need be. Now, we'll go ahead and lower the lid all the way down where we can bend the tab over. You want to make sure that both sides are bent far enough that there's no chance they can slide back out of the track.

Next, we'll need to go down into the trailer where we'll be attaching the friction clip to the operator arm. That way it can't come off of the new lid. You want to make sure that the concave side of the clip bears against the dome bar. If you've attached the handle temporarily, you will need to unscrew it so we can put the screen back up into place. Once the screen's back up into place you can go ahead and put the handle back on. Finally, we'll put the trim ring of the piece of plastic that goes around the outer edge with the four screws.

With that, that's all there is to it, to replacing the Ventline replacement operator with knob and screw for the Ventline Ventadome trailer roof vent with metal dome. Part number BV0115-04. .
