TST TPMS - RV - Trailer - TST-507-INT-6-C Review

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this TST tire pressure monitoring system with the color display and the six internal tire sensors. Now, this TPMS will let you monitor your vehicle's tire pressure and temperature. We have this included monitor right here. Also works great with your motor home, 5th wheel or trailer.

It does include everything laid out here on the table. The color monitor itself, the cradle mount right here, the suction cup mount, the repeater, the micro USB cable and the 12 volt adapter to charge your monitor. The six internal sensors and the bands and a nice instruction manual describes how this operates and how you hook it up. Now this is a color widescreen monitor, provides early warning detection with visual and audible alerts. It will detect blowouts, significant pressure changes and tire temperatures exceeding 158 degrees. It will refresh automatically with new tire information about every five minutes and you can preset to let you monitor up to four separate vehicles or trailers.

Tire pressure can be read in either psi or bar and the tire temperature is in Celsius or Fahrenheit. What I want to do is zoom in a little just so I can show you when I turn this on. On the side here is an on and off switch. So we just slide that up. You can see how it will flip on and then there's a set button right here that when you do hold onto it, it will beep and then puts you in the set mode.

Then you can just go through the different settings by pushing the plus right up here. Go through all the settings that you need and then if you just hit back, it'll take you back to the main screen where all your settings are. Turn that back off and we'll just zoom back out. Now, the suction cup mount right here, it's a very easy to use suction cup mount. This will let you stick the monitor to your windshield or dashboard. You can see all you have to do is line it up, slide it up, and it'll hold it in place.

With this attached to your windshield, it allows you to adjust it that way, tighten it down and either go up or down that way. It's a very nice mount for it. Then to remove it, just slide it down. It comes right off. The cradle mount right here, this will allow you to set the monitor to display it on a nice flat surface and it's made of a material that won't move on it. You can see it'll hold it securely in place. The micro USB cable and this 12 volt adapter that'll let you charge the monitor with your vehicle's 12 volt accessory outlet. Now, the sensors right here, these are six internal sensors. They'll check your tire pressure and temperature every 12 seconds. The internal design provides more accurate temperature measurement when compared with those valve stem mounted tire sensors. Very easy installation onto most wheels. Basically the sensor will bolt to the hose clamp like we have it here now. The hose clamp will then wrap around your wheel using this large hose clamp. Tighten it down with a screwdriver, and then you just trim the excess strap. The band is a stainless steel hose clamp to help resist corrosion. Now, you can purchase additional sensors. We do sell those separately. It'll let you monitor up to about 110 tires if you'd like. The repeater right here when you do install that, the repeater will strengthen your sensor signal and eliminates any electronic interference. A few specs on it, we'll start with the internal tire sensors right here. The dimensions on them are about 2-3/4" long, about 1-1/4" wide, about 5/8" inch thick. Pressure range on these sensors is 0 psi to 218 psi. Operating temperature ranges of negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 176 degrees Fahrenheit and the frequency it operates on is 433.92 MHz. Battery life on these sensors is about four years. Then the monitor we talked about, overall dimension on that is going to be about 3" tall, about 4-1/2" inches wide, about 1" deep. The screen is about 1-5/8" tall, 3-1/4" wide. Battery life for five to seven days on a full charge and the battery recharge time is about four hours. But as I mentioned, you have this nice instruction manual that describes how everything operates, how you set it. But that should do it for the review on the TST tire pressure monitoring system with the color display and the six internal tire sensors.
