Review of Rhino Rack Tie Down Straps RRRTD55P

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps. Now these tie-downs let you secure items to your cargo carrier, your roof rack, your trailer or your truck bed. A lot of times we see these when it comes to securing like a canoe or a kayak to your roof rack on your vehicle, or maybe your coolers, your luggage and that sorts of stuff, whether it's to your roof rack, like a cargo tray, or a hitch mounted cargo carrier. But these can also be used to secure items in your trailer or your truck bed. They're very quick and easy. They're efficient. They feature these really nice cam lock buckles.

Now these are metal buckles that hold the straps tight over your gear. So basically you find the end of the strap, it feeds through the buckle, and then you pull the strap to tighten it around your gear or your cargo. Then as you do that, what it does is it secures everything. So it's a nice design. It's easy to use. This one is a little bit upgraded from other ones out there on the market, so right here around the buckle we have the injection molded TPV rubber buckle protector that guards your vehicle and your gear against any type of scratching or scuffs that a bare metal buckle might create, so that's a really nice design.

Anything that that buckle comes into contact with it's not going to scratch or damage because of that built in rubber buckle protector. You'll notice right here on the actual cam lock buckle it has multiple teeth in there. What that does is it grabs the strap, so you can always tighten or pull out slack, but it will not back feed until that release lever is depressed, and that allows the strap to flow freely either way. Then once you let go, again it will not back feed, but you can always take slack out. Then it has this piece right here. This is a built in strap holder that lets you keep the strap folded up when it's not in use. But this can also be used to secure any excess strap during travel. The strap itself is a durable polyester construction.

It measures 15/16th" wide by 18' long. Safe working load limit per strap is 165 pounds. Maximum load or brake strength is 496 pounds. With this part number you get two cinch straps. Now keep in mind that tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, so the weight of your secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. That's going to do it for today's look at the Rhino-Rack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps..
