Go Power RV Solar Panels - Roof Mounted Solar Kit w Inverter - 34282183 Review

Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a quick look at the Go Power! Weekender ISW solar charging system for your RV. So this is going to give you a pretty complete kit to get a solar panel mounted on the top of your RV and everything else that you need to charge your batteries and be able to use that pretty functionally. It looks like a lot of stuff, it kind of is, but it's a really good system to make sure that you're going to get the most out of your onboard batteries and also your solar panels. Just to briefly go over how this is going to work and what it comes with. You're going to get your 190-watt solar panel.

This will be mounted on the roof of your RV. It is a fixed mount. You can get a stand kit to adjust the angle of it if you want, but as is it just mounts directly to the top of your RV.It is a single panel that is going to collect the solar energy from the sun and convert that to useful DC electricity, or direct current electricity. That then is going to go to your house batteries and power them up, and make sure that they're nice and charged. In between though, you're going to have a controller.

That's going to be this piece here that allows for you to check the output of your solar panel and make any kind of adjustments, and make sure that it's not going to overload your batteries or cause any issues with them. It also helps you to monitor the charge on your batteries and make sure that everything's looking good. Then from your batteries, it's also going to connect into an inverter. This is going to convert that direct current, or DC power, to AC power which a lot of accessories in your RV will use. Pretty much anything that plugs into a regular wall socket, or wall outlet, will use AC power, so by being able to convert that DC power to AC, we get a lot of benefit out of that solar panel.

So that is what this is going to do for you. There's also a fuse block to go in between your batteries and the inverter to prevent any kind of issues that might arise there. So you don't have to worry about any kind of shorts or issues with that. You can just replace the fuses in here rather than it damaging any of the components in your system. This also comes with a fixed mount remote. You'll mount this in an easy to access location, so you can check that little box somewhere mounted on your wall rather than having to get down and look at what's going on with this actual unit itself.

It makes it pretty easy to check on the inverter, make sure that it's got a proper output and make any kind of adjustments that you need to.And then lastly, we're going to also have our automatic transfer switch, which is going to, as the name suggests, automatically transfer the power. If you plug into shore power it's going to detect that and then stop drawing power from your inverter for those AC accessories. So it's a lot of information and it's a lot of stuff, but once you get everything installed in your vehicle, it's going to make for a really nice, easy to use kit where you just have everything installed. You really only need to check these two boxes to make sure that everything's looking good, and it should keep your batteries functioning at a tip top shape, make sure that they don't get overloaded, make sure that they're fully charged at all times, and that way you can stay green and stay off the grid longer than normal. It does come with some other accessories: wiring and mounting hardware, and the wiring for the solar panel as well. You might end up needing some additional parts and some additional wires, depending on your RV and what it will require specifically. This might not be a completely complete kit - there's always going to be those little extra things you have to get, but for the most part, this is going to have all the big stuff that you need. You can expand this system with the solar panel. You can get an additional one if you want to, and you should be fine with that. This is a 1500 watt inverter, so even if you get two panels, you should be covered as far as that power goes there. You can really expand that system and make sure that all your electronics are covered. As far as the specs, the measurements and all that really detailed stuff, you can find that here at our website, on the product page. If you scroll down it'll give you all those great specs. You can really double check and make sure that this is exactly what you need to get on the road and enjoy your weekend. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this kit is the right one for you. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
