Review of Brophy Ball Mounts CM20

Today, we're going to reviewing part number CM20. This is the Brophy Clevis Mount for 2-inch trailer hitches. It's going to be rated at 6,000 pounds. The hitch mounting clevis is going to be great for industrial and agriculture applications. It's going to use a 1-inch diameter pin for simple hookup. Now, it is sold separately.

If you don't already have one, you can pick one up here on our website using part number CP20. The platform with the hole can also be used as a ball mount for standard towing. This is going to be made from a nice sturdy steel, construction with the corrosion resistant black power coat finish. Now, back here is going to be your standard 5/8-inch pin hole. This is going to use a hedge pin and clip or a hitch lock. That's sold separately.

If you don't already have one, you can check some options here on our website. The one I'll be using for our demonstration today is going to be part number PC3. Now, this product is made in the USA. It's designed for 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receivers. It's going to offer a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 pounds with a maximum tongue 00:00:57 weight of 600 pounds. Again, the ball hole right here or your pin hole diameter is going to give us a measurement of right on 1 inch.

The distance from the center of our hitch pin hole was going to be this pin hole back here to the center of that ball or pin hole here on the front that has the 1-inch diameter. Again, center on center, the distance between the two, that's going to give us a measurement of 10 and 1/8 of an inch. Overall length is going to measure about 14 inches. You can see here, it's got feature 00:01:35 a hollow shank. This is going to be the portion that slides into the receiver of your hitch. Now, with the 1-inch pin, diameter pin installed through the clevis attachment here.

If we take a measurement, the distance that we would have from the back of that pin to the closest point here of the shank, so measuring the opening space that we would have with the pin installed, that would give us a measurement of right at 2 inches and then the height that we have between the two draw bars is also going to measure right at 2 inches. Now, the draw bar thickness on this is going to measure 3/4 of an inch. Real quick, I just want to go ahead and show you how it installs. Again, I'll be using part number PC3. That's going to be your standard 5/8 inch pin. That's going to come with a clip. All you have to do is take the shank. Slide it into your 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. Line up your pin holes and insert your hitch pin and clip or your hitch pin and lock. That's going to do it for our review of part number CM20. This is the Brophy Clevis Mount for 2-inch trailer hitches, rated at 6,000 pounds. .
