If your generator or shore power needs a little extra help to start your RV AC unit, this start capacitor will give it the power boost it needs. Relay switch turns the capacitor off once power has been supplied.

If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.
To install, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.

Syrus provided outstanding technical support allowing me to replace an obsolete AC and for the most part it was a drop in installation. All I had to do was cut the old pigtail off and wire the new one directly to the thermostat included!
Didn’t need the starting Capacitor order it just in case.

Was an exact drop in for the R-Pod 179. 4 stars because it was not compatible with the existing thermostat. We ended up purchasing a new thermostat, then that one was not compatible with the furnace. Camper now has two thermostat's, one for air conditioner and another for the furnace.
Everything went together Great !
Delivery was a day earlier than expected.
Time will tell how well it holds up !

So far so good. The heater add on works so good. I can set the temp and not worry about running out of propane.
It was pretty easy to install. I wouldn't say it was made for my specific AC unit; I had to find a good place to locate it inside the housing. But it works exactly as I need it to, allowing me to run my 3500w generator in Eco mode while still allowing the AC to cycle on and off correctly. It's working out perfectly.
This unit fit my class a motorhome in place of the old dometic unit (2006 HR) and plugged into the 6 pin connector with no issues.
I bit noisier than the old unit.

Amy, I want to thank you for your help in me being able to install my Camper's AC. Once I got the harness you advised me to get I was able to hook it up. It works great. I received the Capacitor on Saturday I installed that yesterday. It works perfectly on 120v. I have one more test for it when I hook up to my generator's on Thursday when I'll be camping. It only makes sense to install this extra capacitor to your RV air conditioner. This unit arrived with easy to follow printed instructions and the video instructions were a great help. Installation only took a few minutes.
***One tip I would offer when attaching the capacitor to the blower - screw in the attachement screws first without the capacitor. The screws are a tight fit intially and this step will allow them to go in much easier when you are attaching the capacitor body.
