Hey Jen, thanks for reaching out!

The AC world has been shifting a bit this past year because of a new regulation that says all ACs from here on out need to use R32 refrigerant. Because of this, a lot of the older AC units have become obsolete.

The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV89FR will still work with an older Dometic unit that uses the 6-Pin connector, and it can be paired with the Start Capacitor # ACMSCKIT for a more efficient start up.

If you'd like to get a jump start with the new refrigerant, then we have the upgraded Low Profile Advent both in Black # ADV52SR and White # ADV65SR. These come with whole new kits (including a thermostat and distribution box) because the R32 models are all new and won't be backwards compatible.

One note I will put in here just to be mindful of; we've had some feedback that not all of the 6-Pin connectors are a direct plug and play match so you may end up needing to have a service tech come out and mess with the wiring if the # ADV89FR doesn't start up right away.

Hopefully this all makes sense - let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey Jen, did you decide to go with the Advent Air Low Profile AC or the upgraded R32 model? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others facing similar choices.
