Replacement for Carrier AC on 2009 Monaco

Updated 07/17/2024 | Published 07/10/2024

Question:

Ive got a 2009 Monaco with Carrier AC units Carrier Air .V. One of them is on its last leg. They are remote controlled. Im thinking of replacing it with your unit ACM150B and kit ACCARKIT. Will this be a plug and play? Are there other kits or items needed?

Hi Dave; the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 will be compatible with your Carrier setup using the # ACCARKIT. The adapter wiring kit makes it a plug and play installation. The only exception is if the control box of your Carrier AC is built into the AC unit. If you want to add a start capacitor # ACMSCKIT or heat strip # ACMHD they are available separately.

Thanks for getting back to me. How do I tell if the control box is built in to the unit? The wireless remote also controls the heater in the coach (not part of the AC, just controlled by the remote). I don't mind not having a remote for the AC but would like not to have to rewire the heater. Thanx, Dave DeGrendele

@Dave I just did a quick search for "Carrier AirV" and the first thing that popped up was the service manual. I'm not sure what your exact model is but all of these listed in the service manual show that the control box is in the air distribution box so I'm willing to bet yours is too. The manual listed the following models: 68RV11302A 68RV14102A 68RV14103A 68RV14112A 68RV15102A 68RV15103A Everything will still work including your heater. You're only swapping out the AC unit and plugging the new one into the rest of the setup. So everything will function as it does now, your control box will just tell a different AC unit to turn on instead of the old Carrier one.
