Replacement AC System for a Dometic A/C Unit b57915.711c0

Updated 07/11/2025 | Published 07/09/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a Dometic A/C unit b57915.711c0 13,500 btu unit on my 2016 race car trailer that needs replaced. I found some tech support replies on etrailer that recommended a 15,000 btu replacement for my unit as Advent model ACM150 or ACDOM150. However, I dont see those units for sale on the website. Are these units no longer available? If so, is there a different suitable replacement for my unit? Thanks!

Hey Tyler, thanks for the information. That is correct those units are no longer available or suitable for your needs. In the last 18 months we've found out that the Advent AC's will no longer replace Dometic units. The pin functions are different and the warranty is voided when you mismatch manufacturers.

To replace your Dometic system, I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV75SR. This 13,500 btu setup comes with everything you need to upgrade your AC system. It comes with the AC unit, air distribution box, and a start capacitor. It has the new R32 refrigerant that is more efficient and draws only 15 amps.

We also have the 15,000 Btu Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV42SR if you want to jump up to the next cooling size.

What kind of cars do you race?

Jerred, thank you for the quick response and excellent info. I do have a few followup questions: 1. I would like to jump up to a 15k unit. The ADV42SR is a "complete system", which is more expensive than just the "AC unit only" ADV26SR. Any reason I couldn't buy just the AC unit and reuse my Dometic lower and electronics? 2. I'm not finding a white option. Do you know of a white model that would work for my replacement? 3. These units look to be either "Preorder" or long lead times. Is there anything that would work for me that is in stock or a relatively quick delivery estimate (within a month)? Thanks!

@TylerV 1. The Advent AC's will no longer replace Dometic units because the pin functions are different with the Dometic Air Boxes and the warranty is voided when you mismatch manufacturers. Additionally, all the newer AC's are not backwards compatible because EPA regulations changed the coolant to the new R32. The AC units are more efficient but it doesn't work with older air boxes. 2. Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV72SR 3. As far as 15,000 btu Advent AC Systems go the item # ADV72SR and item # ADV42SR are the quickest option and right now they're a month and a half out. The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR23TD is the next option up and it is currently available to ship tomorrow (07/10/25).

@JerredH Thanks again for the excellent info. Are there downsides to the "low profile" ac units? Even though they are 15k btu, I'd assume they are less efficient due to less condenser surface area?

@TylerV You're welcome! Happy to help. According to Advent, their Low-profile ACs use a smaller, more efficient compressor, and condenser system.
