Do Lippert SolidStep Fold-Down Steps Need to be Centered in Doorway When Installing
Updated 05/15/2020 | Published 05/14/2020 >
Question:
I glanced at the videos on installing the Lippert Solid step. My question is: do the steps have to be exactly centered in the doorway? I didnt notice any measuring to locate the center point. How critical is that, or can they be offset slightly to one side?

You should try to locate the center point of your door frame when installing the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 26" to 29-7/8" RV Door Frames - Triple # LC791572.
If you take a look at the cut out of the directions I added it does specify centering the steps in the doorway, and we always recommend following the manufacturer's directions. Having said that, realistically you will be fine with it not being 100 percent perfectly centered, so long as it doesn't deviate all the way to one side, for example.
I have added a link to the videos you referenced as well as a link to the installation instructions for you to check out of the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 26" to 29-7/8" RV Door Frames - Triple # LC791572.
