Question:
I have an old trailer with a 3-1/4inch tongue that I would like to put a coupler on. I can not find one anywhere. Is it even possible?

The straight tongue couplers like the Dutton-Lainson 3-Inch Trailer Coupler, part # DL13897 are available for trailer tongues with either a 2-inch, 2-1/2-inch, or 3-inch channel. I would recommend for you to measure the trailer channel at a point where you are not measuring the coupler and see if it measures 3 inches wide. If you are measuring the width of the trailer channel including the coupler it will normally measure larger than 3 inches.
If the measurement of the trailer tongue, not including the coupler, measures no more than 3 inches wide the part # DL13897 will fit your trailer.
If you do have a 3-1/4 inch wide trailer tongue you would need to first have an adjustable channel like part # BDAC5000300 welded to the front of your trailer tongue and then use a # PSA200S0303 to bolt to the channel and provide you with a coupler.
