Question:

I am in need of a wheel hub for my Carson trailer, below are the axle details 5 “ from center of bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across. 3500# Axle, 2990# GVWR Inner bearing L68149 Outer bearing L44649 15” wheels, on the wheel it is stamped with 5 on 5. I am looking at your #84550 hub but the one on my trailer looks more like your #8-258-5UC1. It is round not the star type. What hub wheel do you recommend? Thanks

If your Carson trailer uses a standard spindle, you will need the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly, # 84550BX. This hub assembly includes lug nuts, L68149 inner bearing and race, L44649 outer bearing and race, grease cap and grease seal.

If you have a grease zerk at the end of your spindle, you will need our E-Z Lube Trailer Hub Assembly, # 84550UC1-EZ. This assembly also includes lug nuts, L68149 inner bearing and race, L44649 outer bearing and race, grease seal, but this kit includes an E-Z Lube grease cap.

As for your current hub being round opposed to the star type, the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly, # 84550BX, and # 84550UC1-EZ, both fit a 3500 pound axle with 5 on 5 bolt pattern and use a L68149 inner bearing and L44649 outer bearing. The fact that the hub is star shaped will have no affect on the function of the hub.
