Will the Curt Hitch part # C15572 fit a 2014 Ram 1500 with Dual Exhaust

Updated 05/12/2025 | Published 09/28/2014

Question:

I see the 14374 fits with the factory dual exhaust, but does the C15572? The truck is rated for 10,000 lbs and Id like to install a hitch that has more rating than Id actually ever need or use. Thanks

There are no exhaust styles that the Curt Hitch part # C15572 that you referenced is not confirmed to fit. That means it would be totally compatible with your 2014 Ram 1500 with dual exhaust as long as you don't have the factory hitch.

Hello Jameson C. I am looking for clarification regarding fitment of a class V receiver hitch for a 2014 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman that has the full tow package including their class IV receiver. The Curt C15572 is specified as being a fitment for trucks WITHOUT a factory hitch. I have read that the factory hitch is welded in. I have also read that all I have to do is remove the factory hitch first. But nowhere have I read or seen video of the removal of the factory hitch in order to install the C15572, or whether is is just unbolted, or whether there are welds that need to be cut. Can you clarify for me if the factory class IV receiver can be unbolted, and then the C15572 just bolted into place? I can’t even find this direct answer on the Curt website.

@RichardH Our understanding is that the OEM hitch is built into the truck's bumper beam which means the only way to do an aftermarket hitch would be to replace the bumper beam with one that doesn't have the OEM hitch built into it and then you'd be able to install an aftermarket hitch.
