Can a Trailer be Backed Up when Using Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution

Question:

The expert review I read states that the bars should be removed for backing up, but the data sheets say backing up is allowed. Which or are both correct? Is this a reference to straight line backing up vs angled backing? When I previously towed my TT, I used the WDH with chains. The reese with friction pads and no chains interested me.

With the new Steadi-Flex system, # RP66560, it does allow backing up.

The Reese Steadi-Flex systems are very versatile. The narrow brackets and wide range along the trailer frame they can be mounted allow them to fit trailers that other systems will not fit. I have included a couple of helpful links on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you.

To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
