Question:
When folded up will the carrier clear the bumper on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I have a Curt trailer hitch and I think from the hole to the back of the bumper is about 6.5 inches. To ask another way, how many inches from the hole to the edge of the carrier when folded up?

Expert Reply:
When folded up the Curt trailer hitch mount cargo carrier # C18109 measures just 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier so it would not work on your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The carrier that has the most clearance when folded up is Pro Series carrier # 6502. It measures 7-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier when folded up. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier for you.
I have also included a link to the right to a help article that will help you determine the best fit carriers for your Jeep.
