Bulldog BX1 Gooseneck Coupler Recommendation to Replace a Bulldog Hammerblow Coupler

Question:

I have a Featherlite 2 horse straight load trailer with a Bulldog Hammerblow 20,000 coupler. I am looking to replace the Hammerblow with a BX1 coupler. I have noticed lthat all of the BX1 couplers that I am looking at have a load bearing pin. My trailer does not have a load bearing pin, so I do not have a hole in the outer tube for a load bearing pin. Do I have to have a hole for a load bearing pin to use the BX1 coupler or is there a BX1 model that does not require a load bearing pin. My trailer has two set screws. Thank you for your help

What you are going to need for your trailer is the BX1 Bulldog Gooseneck Coupler part # BD1289030300 since this comes with an outer tube.

The part # BD1289170300 is an inner tube only and would only work for you if you had an outer tube on your trailer with a load bearing pin like you said you don't have.
