How to Pick Out Replacement Rims for a Trailer that Uses Wheel Bolts

Updated 09/08/2014 | Published 09/07/2014

Question:

I am fixing an old trailer with gR78 x 15 five bolt tires that need both rims and tires. The rims use bolts instead of lug nuts. Can i still buy rims like this? Thanks,

Since your trailer wheels use wheel bolts instead of lug nuts that means you have hub-centric wheels and hubs. What that means is that you need to get an exact measurement of the pilot diameter of the wheels you currently have and find ones with that exact same dimension and you would be good to go.

The part # AM20504 has a pilot diameter of 2.62 inches. If that is what you have on your old wheels these would work as a replacement in that regard. These wheels also have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. If you are unsure of what bolt pattern you have on your wheels check out the FAQ article I attached.
