Question:
Morning, I am an older Canadian, so need a bike rack that makes it easy to install 2 two bikes on. We own a 2026 Model Y Tesla, and we just purchased a brand new 2027 Brinkley Ix 26. We have 2 two e-bikes. One is a HeyBike Ranger, and the other is a 2017 Rad Bike step through. Is there a carrier that wont brake the bank, but I can use on both units. The Tesla hatch would need to be accessible too. Thank-you for your time.

Hey Rory!
Really cool setup you've got there! I have two options for your setup, and both are priced very similarly. The Lets Go Aero V-Lectric VFR # LGA25VR and the Yakima OnRamp LX # Y88DJ are both rated to work in a 2" hitch receiver in both your 2026 Tesla Model Y and your 2027 Brinkley LX 26 travel trailer, but my overall recommendation for you is the # LGA25VR.
I found online that your HeyBike Ranger e-bike weights around 75 lbs, and the 2017 Rad Bikes weigh around 70 pounds. The reason I like the # LGA25VR for you is because it's rated to carry two bikes up to 80 lbs per bike while the # Y88DJ reduces its limit to 48 lbs when taken off-road. The # LGA25VR is explicitly rated for use with a travel trailer, which is a very important distinction when looking for bike racks that you can tow with your Brinkley.
Another great feature of the # LGA25VR is the built-in bike ramp to allow for easy loading and unloading once you reach your destination. It doesn't tilt, but it does telescope out to allow access to your Model Y's hatch. I have photos of the # LGA25VR installed below.
The bikes will sit comfortably in the cradles of your # LGA25VR, and they'll stay secure on both a bike with a crosstube on the frame or a step-through frame because the attachment point is an adjustable arm with a strap. Your step-through e-bike won't need an adapter to make the rack work.
I think the # LGA25VR will be great for carrying your e-bikes on both your Model Y and Brinkley travel trailer. There are no weight incompatibilities, access restrictions, or physical limitations that this bike rack can't handle. Do you have any big rides that you're planning or is the rack just to bring bikes to the campsite?
