Hey Clay, upgrading your boat trailer to disc brakes is a really great idea that will improve braking significantly. What I need from you to pick out the correct parts is the axle capacity of your trailer as well as the bolt pattern of your wheels. With that info I can give you everything you need.

With that said the Hydrastar kit part # HBA16-252-82 is a really great place to start as it will give you the best all around actuator that is very reliable great performing with the needed brake lines and breakaway kit but for a boat trailer you'd want the part # HS381-9067 which is the marine version of this setup designed for boat trailers.

@ClayW all you need then is two sets of 3,500 lb disc brake kits with the DeeMaxx part # DE66YR and you'd be set with the kit I mentioned above!

@JamesonC Would these be the best for salt water?

@ClayW The absolute best in saltwater is stainless steel like with the kit part # K2R35S but let me warn you it's not cheap...You'd also need idler hubs too with part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K since this is a slip on kit. The Maxx coating will do a great job though and last a long time.
