Can the InterVac CS-8 Connect to a VacPort Sweeper Pan?

Updated 10/19/2026 | Published 10/15/2026

Question:

Electrically, how does the CS-8 connect to the VacPort Sweeper Pan? Does the CS-8 include wiring or wire terminal? FYI: Replacing my not working CS-8

Hey Ron, thanks for reaching out. The InterVac CS8 Vacuum Cleaner # IV88FR is powered by a standard 110/120V connection, either through its power cord or a hardwired connection, depending on the version. However, the VacPort Sweeper Pan is designed to connect to the CS-RM model # IV93FR, which has the remote-control connections needed to activate the vacuum. The CS-8 does not include those low-voltage terminals or the wiring for the VacPort.

For the CS-RM, the connection is pretty simple. A two-wire, 24V low-voltage cable runs from the VacPort's switch terminals to the two yellow pigtail wires on the back of the vacuum, with wire nuts securing the connections. InterVac includes a 6' low-voltage wire with the CS-RM. Since you're replacing an existing CS-8 that was connected to a VacPort, I'd double-check the model number on your original vacuum. If the VacPort automatically turned it on, there's a good chance you actually have a CS-RM or a different remote-compatible version.

We bought the vacuum for our 5th wheel to replace what was here. It works great and easy to replace. If we can do it anyone can do the replacement.
