How to Convert Parallax 6332 to Charge Lithium Batteries

Updated 10/14/2026 | Published 10/13/2026

Question:

Can you please advise on which converter you offer would be lithium charging capable model to act as a replacement for a Parallax 6332, Option C, specifically one that preserves the original breaker and fuse panel. The current converter and breaker/fuse panel are original to a 2003 Bigfoot B17 travel trailer. I am looking at converting to a single 100Ah lithium battery to start with the possibility of adding a second battery down the road. Would upgrading to a 45 amp converter be an option for faster charging two batteries?

Hey Tony, welcome back! All you need is the correct replacement lower section for your Parallax 6332 and it will be lithium compatible. For that you just need the part # PD4635V and you'd be set! I would recommend sticking with the amperage you have now instead of going with a higher amp rating unless you are okay with replacing the wiring too as it would need to be rated for the higher amperage as well. Do you have your batteries picked out already?

Thanks Jameson. Please advise on battery recommendations as I have not selected them yet. Also, I have read that when converting to Lithium on an older trailer a DC to DC charger is required in order to prevent the trailer battery from discharging the truck battery. Is that accurate? If so, do you offer DC to DC kits?

@TonyF For the money and what you get I recommend the Rich Solar Alpha 1 Pro part # RS74VR. This is a 100Ah, Bluetooth monitoring, internal heating, built-in battery management system, and 10-year warranty. Is a DC-to-DC charger required? Not necessarily. The concern is legitimate, but it depends on the tow vehicle's wiring. If the truck's 7-way 12V charge circuit remains powered with the ignition off, the trailer and truck batteries can interact, potentially draining the truck battery. Some trucks automatically disconnect that circuit when the ignition is off. If you do need one the part # RED96FR is a great option that can do a 12 amp charge.
