Can I Reuse My Hubs When Replacing a 3,500 lb Trailer Axle

Question:
I need to replace the bent axle on my utility trailer, but I just replaced the hubs last year. It's a straight 3,500 lb axle with a 73 inch hub face and 58 inches between the spring centers. The springs sit underneath the axle. Do you have a replacement that will let me keep my hubs?

Hey Brandon! For a replacement I recommend the Dexter 3,500-lb Trailer Axle Beam # DX775GV. This is a direct replacement since it matches your 73" hub face, 58" spring centers, and is in the underslung configuration. This is just the beam with spindles, so you aren't paying for another set of hubs you don't need.
You can reuse your hubs as long as they're undamaged and use # L68149 inner bearings, # L44649 outer bearings, and grease seals with a 1.719" inside diameter like # 10-36. This is the standard bearing combination for a 3,500 lb axle so odds are high they'll carry over. However, it wouldn't hurt to double check just to be sure, especially if it is an older trailer.
What kind of utility trailer do you have and what do you typically haul?

It's a 5x10 utility trailer. Mostly hauling my zero-turn mower and other landscaping equipment. The hubs are still in great shape so I'd rather keep them.
