Are Dexter Bearing Kits as Good as Timbren Bearing Kits for Trailer Axle

Question:

I have the Dexter 6000 lb axels on my 2022 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS. The Dexter Bearing Kit DX26ER is $64.97/hub. The Timken Bearing Kit TMK42VR is $127.30/hub. Are the Timken Bearings really worth twice the price over the Dexter Bearings or will I get just as good of service out of the Dexter Bearings?

Hey Dale, Dexter bearings are rock solid and if I were you that would be what I go with. Timkens are awesome American made bearings but Dexter does not make low quality axle components so the part # DX26ER would be your best option.

Did you have a bearing/hub fail or are you wanting to keep a spare set on hand?

Thanks, I appreciate the information. I plan on next Spring replacing the brakes and bearings and wanted to know ahead of time what I am going to buy. Thanks again, Dale
