Question:

Hi there. A locksmith I hired to remove a broken key from my Thule cargo box got quickly frustrated. Instead, he drilled the cylinder out, in the process totally trashing the plastic barrel housing that the cylinder is mounted in. Am I screwed? Should I start looking to replace the entire box? Its about 8 years old and in good condition.

Hey Ron.

The only thing I could find that may be of assistance is # THLOCKN170. However, you did say the plastic housing which Thule has stated they don't make a replacement for unfortunately.

If you do find yourself needing a new Thule box, then I recommend the # TH615 which is in the same product line as your current box. This has very similar dimensions with updated features.

What do you typically use your Thule box for most?
