What is Function of Black Bracket and Button on Progressive Dynamics Converter part PD4635V

Question:
I have replaced a failed PD4635 in my Casita trailer with a new PD4635 from eTrailer. Two questions: Where does the 5 1/2inch plastic piece go? What is the black button on the bottom of the converter for?

Hey Michael, these are great questions but the 5-1/2" plastic piece is an adapter/mounting piece included because the PD4635 is designed to retrofit several different power-center configurations. Whether it's used depends on the original converter/power center in the Casita. For example, when replacing a WFCO 8935, the installation uses an adapter bracket to secure the new converter. Other installations secure the converter differently, so not every supplied mounting piece is necessarily used. Progressive Dynamics' instructions specifically vary depending on the power center being replaced.
The black button on the bottom of the enclosure is not a charging-mode button. It's simply the release for the converter core. On installations that require removing the PD4635 converter from the enclosure, you depress that button and slide the converter core out.

My replacment unit did not come with that black strip I have a 1988 Ally Aljo. This unit works excellant and the only problem I had was the print is too small on the wires you need to connect perfect unit!

Nothing really to reply about. It's been too long now since I replaced this item, and I don't really remember much about the process. All I remember is that it was pretty difficult for an old man like me to get down to do all of this stuff, but I gotter done, though.
