Question:
Hi, Ive been a happy customer for many years. Im thinking about upgrading from a Yakima LockNLoad to a Thule Caprock, both for the hopefully quieter highway ride and because the Caprock is supposed to be mountable directly to Thule feet. However, Im a little confused by that claim about mounting directly to feet without crossbars, because the roof of the V90 CC is curved, and so it seems that the feet would be at an angle to the platform rack. I know some fit kits might tilt the feed, but the 186010 fit kit for the Evo Flush feet does not tilt the feet. Could you please let me know if Im missing something? Is the Caprock mountable directly to Thule feet despite the fact that they wouldnt be vertical? Or is it not true that the Caprock can mount directly to Thule feet? Thanks in advance! Lujo

Hi Lujo! You're correct that the Evo Flush Rail feet won't necessarily sit perfectly vertical because of the shape of the roof and flush rails, but that won't prevent you from mounting the Caprock directly to the feet. Thule specifically designed and approved the Caprock for direct mounting to the Evo Flush Rail feet without crossbars.
You can use the Evo Flush Rail Feet # TH710601 along with the Fit Kit # TH186010 on your V90 Cross Country and attach the Caprock directly to the feet. The mounting system underneath the Caprock allows for the positioning of the feet, so they don't have to sit perfectly vertical underneath the platform.
What do you typically carry on your LockNLoad now?
