Recommended Rear View Back Up Camera For A Class C 2020 Forest River Forester
Updated 09/22/2026 | Published 09/19/2026 >
Question:
We have a 2020 Forest River Forester class C. We would like to install a back up camera where the middle upper brake lights are at the top. We do not know what camera will work for us in that location or is there a better option for placement? Thanks

Hi Beth and Tom!
I recommend going with the Furrion Vision S+ Wireless RV Backup System w/ 1 Camera - 5" Screen # FR39DF. This will install right above your 3rd brake light (this is typically where people mount them, but you can technically put it anywhere it will fit). You just need to make sure it's mounted at least 2" away from the actual light and you will be good to go!
Wiring this up is also super easy. You will need to drill a 5/8" hole for the wiring to go through, but then you just connect the red wire to your 12 volt source and the black wire is your ground. I typically tell people to route the red wire to a running light, but any 12v source will work perfectly fine. Then it's just four #6x3/4" self tapping screws to mount the bracket, though I do recommend using some sealant to make sure you don't get any leaks. The last thing you will need to do is plug the camera in and then mount it with four #4x1/4" self tapping screws and you're done. The camera and monitor are already paired, so no need to mess with that part.
Are you wanting this to keep an eye on traffic behind you or more for backing into tight spots?
