Question:

Hello, My application will be and RV. Should winterization be done by draining and bypassing? Should or should not use pink antifreeze within this device? If no pink should be used, will it drain completely by gravity if I open the spigot and open my low point drains? Then I would close the tee valve and pink the kitchen main faucet lines normally leaving the UV spigot/faucet dry bypassed. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thank you. Curt

Hey Curt.

I think your plan is basically spot on for winterizing the # GB99FR. I recommend bypassing the PurBlu and leaving it dry rather than running the pink RV antifreeze through the UVC faucet itself. However, I wouldn't rely solely on opening the faucet and your RV's low-point drains to drain all the water from the PurBlu. Shutting off the tee that feeds it, opening the faucet to relive pressure, then disconnecting the 1/4" supply tubing ensures the lines are drained completely. Once its drained you can leave that bypassed and dry for the winter. You then can winterize the main kitchen faucet and the rest of the RV normally with the pink RV antifreeze.
