Hey Terry, a cushioned ball mount like the Gen-Y Glyder Shock Absorbing Ball Mount # 325-GH-12001 that you referenced is what I recommend to help get rid of the road shocks getting transferred to your tow vehicle. With that said this particular ball mount does not have the needed weight capacity for your trailer so you would want the Gen-Y Torsion part # 325-GH-1224 which will make a massive improvement in the road shock. This makes such an improvement that Gen-Y has told us that it actually improves gas mileage as well.

@TerryB It weighs 51 lbs and is designed for a 2-1/2 inch hitch.

@TerryB just wanted to share some real world feedback for you on the 2 1/2" one. I bought this unit about 2 years ago for my Super C rv and use it to pull my fully loaded race trailer 12k. Before this hitch it would perk and bump my rv over every overpass seam. Sense this its smoothed everything out. Its very heavy itself so make sure your trucks reciever is rated and solid itself. It takes about 800+lbs to active the torsion spring but wow does it make a difference.
