Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.
SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).
SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.
The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Hi everyone. Steven here with the etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the SumoSprings solo custom helper springs for the rear axle. Now folks, these are going to fit a 2011 through current year GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado, the 2500 and 3500 series pickup trucks. That being said, make sure you're double checking the fit guide. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time.
Now if you regularly tow a vehicle with a heavy trailer or carry a lot of weight in the bed of your truck maybe, you may notice that your rear end is sagging under that extra load, right So that can contribute to more sway, body roll around corners, and it can really just take a lot of weight off the front axle affecting your steering, your handling, and potentially your headlights and where they're pointing. So these SumoSprings are designed to work with your factory suspension and they're going to provide additional support when the weight is added. Got a couple bolts here and washers and some threadlock it looks like, included with the instructions. Now what's nice about these is these are what we call a progressive design. These are going to replace your factory jounces and this is a microcellular urethane that'll compress evenly.
I'm not able to do it because it takes a lot of weight to do that, but for softer engagement, it's going to compress evenly. The more weight you add, they're going to come progressively stiffer and stiffer the flatter they get. Again, that's going to actually give you the support you need when you need it. And these work independently, meaning if you have heavy cargo on one side, that one spring can compensate for that uneven load while the other side matches, you know, based on the weight and that's going to reduce body roll through turns and those kind of things. Now why I like this kind of kit is because there's no airlines like you do get with the airbags.
There's no worry about am I going to have a leak There's no worry about having to have a compressor, the cost of that whole system. These are a great price point and they do a great job at doing exactly the same thing more or less in my opinion. And again, once these are installed, they're essentially maintenance free. They are a custom fit, but there is no drilling required. Now together, these provide 2,800 pounds of support at 50% compression.
So remember, they're not going to increase your truck's factory weight carrying capacity. These are just giving you 2,800 pounds of support at 50% compression. Well folks, I think that's going to wrap up our look together at these single springs. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
