Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for Long Roadtrip

Question:

I am looking for a tray style bike rack for two bikes. We travel to Florida from Minnesota and have been using a hanging rack for our two hybrid bikes. Would like to be able to secure the bikes and rack to the 2 receiver hitch. We also use a bike cover that zips around the bikes nicely. Unfortunately the cover turns into a sail and causes the rack and bikes to rock in heavy wind. Suggestions? Under $600? thanks

Hey Pete, in your price range I would highly recommend the Thule OutPace Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH39SA because of how solid and stable the bike rack is, the price is decent, and its super lightweight for a platform bike rack at 29 lbs. It can also tilt back for cargo area access and up when not in use for better clearances. If I was in your situation this would be the bike rack I would go with. I would not recommend using a bike rack cover unless the bike rack will be behind a larger RV that will block the wind as it just creates a lot of issues like what you described.
