Can The Yakima JayLow Kayak Rack Be Installed On Top Of Thule Evo Raised Rail Feet?

Question:

I am interested in purchasing your Yakima JayLow kayak rack. Will I be able to mount it so it sits over the Thule Evo Raised Rail Feet? I own a 2025 Subaru Forester Premium with raised rails. Thule WingBar Evo 127 cm roof bar. Thule Evo Raised Rail feet. I want to be able to mount the JayLow so when mounted it sits above the rail feet. I can’t atach a picture here but I downloaded the instructions and on page 2 of 11, illustration 4 shows what I would like to do. Please let me know. Kind Regards, Vinny

Hey Vinny, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can mount the Yakima JayLow # Y04073 on your Thule WingBar Evo 127 cm crossbars, and you can position it out toward the end of the bar so it sits directly above the Thule Evo Raised Rail foot, like the setup shown in the Yakima instructions. The JayLow clamps around the crossbar itself, and the WingBar Evo falls within Yakima’s compatible crossbar dimensions.

So for your 2025 Subaru Forester Premium with the 50" WingBar Evo, I am comfortable recommending the JayLow # Y04073 for what you are trying to do. Mounting it above the foot is also a nice way to maximize the usable space between the two kayak carriers if you are trying to fit more gear across the roof.
