Question:

Wanting help in getting the correct replacement components for my 2012 All-American Trailer brakes. Currently has disc brakes and rotors. All rusted. 12000lbs capacity dual 6000lbs axles with 16x6 wheels and tires. It has a Titan Disc brake actuator that needs replacing as well. Want to convert to electric to be able to use trailer braking system in truck.

Thanks for the information Thomas! To replace the rusty disc brake components and make your 2012 All-American Trailer compatible with your truck's electric braking system, I recommend the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers item # DE24NR.

The DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit item # DE24NR includes everything you need to replace your rusted out disc brake components. This kit includes new rotors that fit 6,000 lbs axles, new mounting brackets, brake calipers, all the brake lines and fittings, and a electric over hydraulic brake actuator that works with electric brake controllers. The rotors have a 6 on 5-1/2 lug nut pattern and will work with 16" wheels.

Since your trailer currently has a Titan Disc brake actuator, you'll also need the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with 1-Amp Charger and 5 Ah Battery item # 3802308. This kit ties into the actuator included with the item # DE24NR. If your trailer comes disconnected while traveling the breakaway kit will trigger the actuator to activate your trailer's brakes.

What do you plan on hauling in your trailer and what kind of brake controller does your truck have? You will need to have one with a EoH setting for this setup to work.

Good morning, Jerred, Thank you for the reply. I will be towing a 29’ SeaRay Boat approximately 9500 lbs. plus or minus depending on fuel and water tanks. I’m pulling it with a Cybertruck that has built in trailer braking system. It has both 4 & 7 pin connectors. Reading it suggests a battery in parallel. Do you think this is really necessary. You may need to read up on the Cybertruck if not familiar. I’m not very familiar with all of this and wanting to get it right on the first order. Thank you in advance. Thomas

@ThomasA You're welcome! Your Cybertruck comes with a factory brake controller that has electric over hydraulic compatibility so the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit item # DE24NR will work with it. In addition to the Bright Way Breakaway Kit item # 3802308, you'll also need a 7-Way connector that plugs into the one on your Cybertruck. If you only have a 4-way, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box item # e99011. This will add a 7-way connector and a convenient junction box to protect all of the electrical connections in one organized location. You have to have a 7-Way connector to operate trailer brakes. None of these parts require batteries ran in parallel. The Bright Way Breakaway Kit item # 3802308 comes with it's own required back up battery. You can continue to use your Titan Disc brake actuator if you want. You would just need to lock it out because it will not be operating the brakes anymore. If you want to replace it I would just need to know what style of trailer tongue you have. A-frame or a straight channel. If it's a channel, I'll need to know how wide it is to recommend a new coupler.
