Furrion RV Air Conditioner Compatibility With Dometic Control System

Question:

I bought 2 Furrion 15k btu rv air conditioners to replace the dometic that came on my RV. To wire the Furrion units to the dometic control system do I need the Furrion control box?

Hi there! You may need the Furrion control box and other Furrion components rather than being able to reuse the Dometic control system, especially if the Furrion units you purchased are the newer R32 models. The refrigerant change has also affected component compatibility, so I don’t want to tell you that a Dometic to Furrion adapter will work without knowing exactly which units you bought. For example the new Furrion Chill cube part # FR99TD uses the new R32 refrigerant so you would most likely need to replace all of the components of your system.

If you can send me the Furrion part numbers for the two 15,000 BTU units you purchased, I can check what components you’ll need and whether your existing Dometic controls can be reused. I’ll also need to know if your RV has a ducted or non ducted system so I can make sure we’re looking at the right setup. What are the part numbers on the Furrion units you bought?
