How Do I Know Which Bearing Kit Will Fit My 2022 Aluma 8214 Tandem Axle Car Trailer?
Published 08/14/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2022 Aluma 8214 tandem axle car trailer. How can I tell if this is the bearing kit for the axles on that trailer. Is the anxle itself identified in some way so I can tell what is its load is which seems that’s how they are identified.

Hey Luis, thanks for reaching out. Bearing kits are sized off the axle weight capacity, so that will be the best way to determine exactly which kit you need. There should be a sticker on the axle tube that shows the weight capacity and other specs. If you can't find the sticker, I should be able to use the casting number on your hub to identify your axle. Brake drums will have a number cast on the front, while idler hubs have a number on the back.
For example, the Dexter Bearing Kit # DX76ER you were looking at is for a standard 3,500 lb axle. That is one of the most common axles out there.
Shoot me that axle capacity or casting number when you get a chance and I'm happy to look into it and make sure you get the right thing.
Are you looking to replace all your bearings? Or just pick up a kit for a spare?
