Will Brandmotion RV Camera System Require PWM Filter With 2026 Chevy Silverado 2500

I have a newer Silverado 2500 (2026) and I've read about the PWM issue with wireless camper cameras. Is that something I could run into with the Brandmotion system too and is there a filter I can install if I have problems?

Hey Matt! Yes, if your Silverado uses PWM on the trailer lighting circuit it can cause problems powering an RV camera system. I'd go ahead and install the 12V PWM Filter # VGR64VR from the start to avoid this issue no matter what camera system you end up with.
The # VGR64VR hardwires into the camera power circuit and provides the steady 12V power the camera needs. This makes it a good solution whether you're using the rear-camera # BM37SR, rear camera with HitchVUE # BM36TR, side-camera # BM57WR, or complete # BM37WR system.

Hello Matt, The usage or requirement for the adapter comes down to how the camera system on your trailer derives its power. If the power for the camera is obtained from the trailer lighting system, usually tied into the running lights, then an adapter can help provide the power for the camera as the newer vehicles use a PWM power system that may, or may not provide enough power to run the cameras. If you are connecting to a trailer with always on cameras, these trailer systems provide power to cameras directly and do not rely on the trailer lighting system. Our latest RV trailer has always on cameras so an adapter was not required. In our previous RV, the cameras were only powered thru the trailer running lights. This required the running lights to be on and to have an adapter installed. This adapter can be used to aid in resolving the power issue for multiple brands. It may just need the terminals modified for connection to the trailer and camera wiring.

The easiest and best way to correct this issue is to purchase the “pigtail” adapter that plugs into your truck and then trailer wire plugs into it. No hard wiring required. Works great on my 2024 Silverado 2500 and fifth wheel.
