Question:
Can you tell me what i need to wire a 7 way plug as far as wiring adapter? Its a 2025 Santafe XRT. It has a tow mode, but Im unsure if there is a built in brake control, Im guessing not. But do you have an adapter for car wiring to the 7 pin hitch plug.

Thanks for stopping by Edward,
The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT is a great SUV for towing, but even with Tow Mode, it does not come equipped with a built in trailer brake controller. Tow Mode adjusts the transmission and driving characteristics for towing, it doesn't provide the trailer brake control.
If your Santa Fe already has a 4 way trailer connector, the easiest way to add a 7-way is with the 7 Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7.
The # ETBC7 plugs into your existing 4-way connector and includes:
Pre wired 7 way connector
12 gauge power wire
40 amp circuit breaker
Mounting bracket and installation hardware
If you're planning to tow a trailer with electric brakes, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR. It provides smooth, proportional braking and features a small dash mounted control knob, while the main control unit is hidden behind the dash for a clean, factory installed look.
Does your Santa Fe already have a factory or aftermarket 4 way trailer connector installed or are you starting from scratch?

According to a google search on that make and model. If it’s equipped with the tow package of 4500 lbs it should have the necessary hardware to add a brake controller if not equipped. The dealer may have the necessary plugs or adapter. If not use an adapter like this one I used on my 2025 ford maverick. You will need to find a power supply in the vehicle or route one to the battery. Etrailet explainsbin pretty clear. I used a Curtis echo brake controller tied to the 7 pin outlet and the app on my phone to use it. Tech support is good also.
