Welcome back, Bill!

The hitch GM used on your 05 SSR was actually made by Oris, which has a different attachment mechanism than the Stealth Hitches. Unfortunately, there is no way to make them work together.

I did actually find the Oris part that would have originally come with the hitch (their part number ORS01122254020), but to further compound the disappointment, it was discontinued quite some time ago (I couldn't find an exact date, but it looks like somewhere between 7 and 10 years ago). I looked around, but there really weren't very many references for that part I could find. Side note, if you wanted to look more, I did find the original GM part numbers as well. The "old" one was 15110022 (not sure why it was labeled as old, but that what it said when I found it) and their other part number was GM-15293525.

So when I struck out with that, I started looking for a new hitch for your SSR, and I ran into another roadblock. None of the hitch manufacturers we carry have a hitch for your vehicle. I even checked with brands we don't carry, and still couldn't find anything available.

I'm not gonna lie to you Bill, there are not a lot of options I could find for your SSR. If it were me, I would probably grab something like the Gen-Y Weld-On 2" Receiver Tube - 12" Long - Steel # 325-GH-003 and have a local fabricator build something to replace the factory hitch. This would let you use a normal ball mount (or other accessories) and is likely your best option at this point. I know that's a bummer, but it's what I got.

What are you wanting to tow?

I would just tow small trailer with 4x4 and or side by side. Ya going to a fabricator is the way I was thinking also. That is the way I will be going.

@BillF That's definitely going to be your best option. Sorry I didn't have a better way for you to go.
